Judy Vezeau - Shipp, Yoga/ Tai Chi Instructor

I began practicing yoga in the late 1960’s at the Yoga Center on Lafayette and Grand.  I continued practicing throughout the years, adding on many other methods of movement: Tai Chi Chuan, Qi Gong, Arica Psychocalisthetics, Tai Chi Chuh, as well as ballet and tap dancing.  My interests and physicality were not inclined to dancing, and I stayed with yoga, Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong.  In order to keep moving comfortably as I age, I decided to learn to teach Yoga.  I completed Yoga Teacher Training, and am looking forward to sharing my experience, knowledge and love of movement.   I love getting older and using my body more efficiently, without stress.  And I thoroughly enjoy encouraging others to move as their bodies allow them. Yoga and Tai Chi have been important learning tools in my life; I want to share the abundance of health through gentle breath work, postures, meditation and relaxation.

                                               Cassie Harrison, Yoga Instructor

As a very busy Yogi, I’m always striving to simplify simplify simply. Yoga helps me notice and give meaning to small things in life. I’ve been practicing yoga for over 18 years; yoga found me in a college classroom as a non-credit course, that I decided to take anyway. Yoga took me hook, line, and sinker. I’ll never forget the day I decided to become a Yoga Instructor, it was a dark
and stormy night… okay actually it was a sunny winter day and I decided to teach yoga so that others would benefit from it as I have. My favorite quote is "You are not a helpless victim of  your own thoughts, but rather a master
of your own mind." – Louise Hay
Cassie Harrison is a 200-hour Certified Yoga Instructor. She received her instruction through
Urban Breath Yoga in Saint Louis taught by Dr. Jaime Sanchez. In her yoga practice, Cassie
employs numerous styles of Sivananda Yoga complimented by various other styles of Hatha Yoga.
Cassie incorporates the words of Swami Vishnudevananda into her teaching philosophy...
"Health is wealth, peace of mind is happiness, Yoga shows the way."

                                                Barbara Stout, Yoga Instructor

Barbara Stout started her journey to Yoga looking for a way to keep in shape and restore flexibility after a back injury, then discovered that Yoga was much much more than mere exercise.  Starting out in Astanga and Power Yoga inspired by Beryl Bender Birch, brought a true understanding of how important breath and alignment are to the body.
Practicing yoga for over 20 years, Barbara is a 200+ hour certified teacher, studying under Dr. Jaime Sanchez,  founder of West-East Natural Healing, the oldest teacher training program in St. Louis in the Hatha discipline of Sivananda Yoga.  Barbara’s teaching style is based on the traditions of Astanga, Vinyasa flow and Hatha Yoga and brings together meditation, pranayama, core movement and physical awareness to every aspect of yoga practice.
In Barbara’s classes, you can expect to be met where your abilities lay, and travel through a core enhancing, flowing yoga sequence that is fun and challenging without being overwhelming.  You will learn alignment cues to make all your yoga poses more effective. At the conclusion of class you will come away feeling centered, relaxed and energized.

                                                 Ginger Rasmussen, LMT

Massage Therapy came after a lifetime of studying art. I found it to be a great outlet for creative energy and a wonderful medium for helping people.  In 2007, I became Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage.  I've studied several modalities including Sports massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Swedish massage, and Deep Tissue.  The instructor who taught me studied Thai Massage in Thailand and she influenced a lot of the techniques I still use.  I try to be flexible and adjust every massage to achieve the best results for each client. One of my favorite things about Massage Therapy is that there are so many types and each Therapist uses techniques differently.  And, much like                                             art, each person feels differently so they receive the massage differently.

                                                 Jerry Foster, LMT

Jerry Foster, LMT graduated from the Healing Arts Center in May of 2010.  He opened White Buffalo Massage, LLC in June of the same year.  Jerry is nationally certified by NCBTMB, and is also certified by the state of Missouri.  He offers Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, Myofascial release, and Reiki.  Reiki is using hands and prayer to allow energy to heal the body. He recently took a Continuing Education course in hot stone massage and now offers that as an optional addition to his massage at White Buffalo.
Jerry believes that the body itself has great healing powers, and that massage can help to begin the process of allowing the body to heal.  Massage works well with traditional medicine to heal the body and provide some much needed relaxation.
Jerry has always been the person that gave a back massage or neck rub to friends and church members and was constantly being told he should be a massage therapist.  He finally decided to go back to school and use the talents and gifts God had given him.
Jerry’s happily married and the father of two fine young men. He loves to do crafts of all types and lately have gotten back into doing leather crafts.  He loves to cook for his family and larger groups at church. For an appointment. You can contact Jerry directly at 314-346-1325

Lucy Moorman, LMT, B.A. in Media
                                   Lightworks Energy Therapy

Lucy Moorman has been a massage therapist for 22 years.  Her initial training was at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in 1990.  She has continued her education to include Healing Touch, Pranic Healing, Reiki Master, Craniosacral Therapy, Universal Healing Master, Hawaiian Lomilomi and many more workshops in personal and spiritual growth.  Lucy combines massage with energy work taking you into a transcendent state of relaxation.  She offers Chakrassage (combining massage with clearing and balancing the 7 major energy centers), Balinese (a deeply relaxing massage with long flowing strokes along the entire length of your body. The gliding rhythmical massage and light pressure from warm stones bring a deep sense of well-being). Lucy’s massage is a melting away of tension-- like a mini-vacation. She also offers Quantum Release Work (chakra balancing during a visualization process that takes you into a theta mind state for healing).
She also works with clients (off the massage table) who are trying to make changes in their lives using PSYCH-K and Emotional Freedom Technique.  Energy Therapy clears emotional energy that is the result of negative thinking or self-limiting beliefs.  It helps you to identify patterns that are often unconscious and change them in surprisingly simple ways.
Lucy is also a published writer and photographer.  She previously worked in television for twenty years as a video editor.  Visit her website at www.lucymoorman.com    314-308-6440

I began training in Chinese Gung-Fu  in the fall of 1970 under Sifu Mike Sanlin.  In 1972, Carl James, a senior student of our school was granted permission to train with a select group of martial artists under the direction of Guro Dan Inosanto in Torrence, Calif.  There have been many teachers who  have  contributed to my growth, however. I  feel  that I owe a special debt to these 3 individuals for  their knowledge  and wisdom which guided me in the beginning of my journey. I have served as an instructor at California Martial Arts Academy (1984 to 1992) and Ron Smith’s  Muay Thai Academy (1993 to 1998). I have taught  classes on self defence at various locations ( S.I.U. Edwardsville,  St. Louis University , midtown YMCA & YWCA In 1992 I became a practioner of Human & Universal  Energy ( founded by Master Luong Minh Dang) and later served as  co-director of ‘Spiritual Human Yoga of South Grand’ (H.U.E. teaching & healing center). The practice of Universal Energy has enabled me to explore the subtlety and nuance of martial arts movement which helps to enhance self- expression and creative flow.   Email- brooks_stan@hotmail.com Phone # 314-322-2387
